Largest project by budget: Solar for Strengthening Health Sector Service Delivery in Zambia

Zambia’s “Solar for Health” project, supported by the Global Fund, UNDP and the Zambian Ministry of Health for a budget of $8.9m, responds directly to chronic power outages affecting rural healthcare facilities. Specifically, the project aims to:

  • Develop a sustainable financial framework through public-private partnerships and carbon credit mechanisms to ensure long-term operation and maintenance.
