55 UNDP projects are reported to have started in May/June 2025, for a total budget of ~$64m and average duration of around 2 years.

Largest project by budget: Rapid Response Facility REVIVE
The global REVIVE initiative – Relief, Employment and Vital Infrastructure for the Vulnerable in Emergencies – is expected to last till end of 2026 and was logged with a budget of $34.77m*, all funded by the Republic of Korea. It aims at supporting early recovery efforts in areas including Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, RDC and Afghanistan.
The project will focus on three fundamental approaches:
- Restoring damaged infrastructure, including medical clinics, schools, water systems, and homes;
- Creating emergency jobs and revitalizing small businesses to restart local economies;
- Reestablishing essential services, from electricity and clean water to healthcare and waste management.

Support to war-affected areas
Rebuilding Hope for Gaza ($2.4m budget) is a dedicated project that focuses on restoring basic infrastructure and livelihoods in a high-volatility context. That is in addition to the REVIVE initiative mentioned above.
South Sudan peacebuilding initiative ($1.6m) takes a phased approach toward inclusive governance, using locally rooted mechanisms to build a stable social compact. This is the 2025-2028 continuation of the previous programme in the region.
$1m are budgeted to help implement the crisis response plan in Democratic Republic of Congo, where conflict intensified in 2025 in the regions of North and South Kivu.
Support to SIDS and climate action
- Blue and Green Islands Integrated Programme (BGI-IP) is amongst the largest budgets for recent launch with $1.8m. It looks to address pressing environmental challenges faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS) – click here for more details on UNDP’s website.
Samoa: $634k to empower communities with climate-resilient development.
Fiji: $644k to strengthen regional climate action and resilience.
Maldives: $500k budgeted for Conserving Reefs through Adaptation and Livelihoods until 2030.
